What is a cloud platform inverter, and what role does it play?
Cloud Platform Inverter It’s a device that converts low-voltage DC power into alternating current. This is because people typically convert 220V AC into DC power, whereas the cloud platform inverter does exactly the opposite. We’re living in an "on-the-go" era—working remotely, staying connected on the move, and enjoying leisure and entertainment while mobile. In these situations, we not only rely on low-voltage DC power supplied by batteries or accumulators but also depend on the essential 220V AC current found in our everyday environments. That’s precisely what the cloud platform inverter is designed to deliver.
What is an inductive load? Simply put, it refers to high-power electrical devices that operate based on the principle of electromagnetic induction—such as motors, compressors, relays, fluorescent lamps, and more. These devices typically require a starting current that’s significantly higher than the current needed to maintain normal operation—often about 3 to 7 times greater. For example, a refrigerator consumes around 150 watts during steady-state operation but can spike to over 1000 watts momentarily. Additionally, when an inductive load is switched on or off, it generates a back electromotive force (back EMF) voltage. This voltage spike can easily exceed the maximum voltage rating that a power inverter like a PTZ inverter can handle, making the inverter highly susceptible to instantaneous overloads. As a result, these types of appliances place stringent demands on the quality of the power supply waveform.
What is the efficiency of a cloud platform inverter? Even when operating on its own, the cloud platform inverter consumes some power, meaning its input power must exceed its output power. The efficiency of a cloud platform inverter is calculated as the ratio of its input power to its output power. For example, if a cloud platform inverter takes in 100W of DC power and delivers 90W of AC current, its efficiency would be 90%.
What is continuous output power? And what is peak output power? Many appliances and devices, such as refrigerators, washing machines, and electric drills, rely on motors that require very high currents to start up. Once they’re running smoothly, however, they only need a small amount of current to maintain normal operation. That’s why, in the case of a cloud platform inverter, there are two key concepts: continuous output power and peak output power. Continuous output power refers to the inverter’s rated output capacity, while peak output power typically reaches twice the rated value. It’s important to note that some appliances—like air conditioners and refrigerators—can draw currents that are 3 to 7 times higher than their normal operating current. Therefore, for these devices to function properly, the inverter must be capable of handling their peak power requirements.
