News and Information

Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Generation It is an application system that uses solar panel arrays and wind turbines to generate electricity, which is then stored in battery packs. When users need power, an inverter converts the DC electricity stored in the battery packs into AC current, which is delivered via transmission lines to the user's electrical loads. Both wind turbines and solar panels serve as the two primary devices responsible for generating electricity.

On the other hand, wind-solar hybrid power plants utilize a wind-solar complementary power generation system. The system primarily consists of wind turbines, solar panel arrays, an intelligent controller, battery packs, a multi-functional inverter, cables, mounting structures, and various accessories—and it is designed to connect to the conventional power grid.

At night or on cloudy and rainy days without sunlight, wind energy provides the power; on sunny days, solar energy takes over. When both wind and sun are available, the two systems work simultaneously, ensuring round-the-clock power generation—making this solution more economical, efficient, and practical than relying solely on wind turbines or solar panels. This innovative system is ideal for areas where electricity access is challenging, such as road lighting, agriculture, animal husbandry, farming, aquaculture, tourism, advertising, service industries, ports, mountainous regions, forested areas, railways, oil facilities, border outposts of military units, communication relay stations, highway and railway signal posts, as well as geological exploration sites and field research workstations.

System costs are becoming more reasonable.

A wind-solar hybrid power system uses photovoltaic panels to convert solar energy into electricity, which is then fed into a battery via a controller and subsequently supplied to electrical loads through an inverter. The advantages of this system include high power supply reliability and low operation & maintenance costs, though it does come with the drawback of higher initial system costs. On the other hand, a standalone wind power system harnesses small-scale wind turbines to transform wind energy into electricity, which is again routed to a storage battery via a controller and finally delivered to connected loads by an inverter. This type of system excels in generating substantial amounts of power and boasts low overall system and maintenance costs—but its primary limitation lies in the relatively low reliability of small wind turbines.

Additionally, both wind and photovoltaic systems share a common drawback: the inherent unpredictability of renewable resources leads to an imbalance between power generation and electricity demand. To ensure stable energy supply, both wind and PV systems rely on battery storage—but since daily power generation is heavily influenced by weather conditions, the system’s battery packs often remain idle for extended periods. This, in turn, becomes the primary factor reducing the lifespan of the battery units.

Due to the strong complementarity between solar and wind energy, wind-solar hybrid power systems effectively address the resource limitations of standalone wind and photovoltaic systems. Additionally, since both wind and solar systems can share common components like battery packs and inverters, the overall cost of wind-solar hybrid systems can be reduced, making the system more economically viable.
