   Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Generation The system primarily consists of a wind turbine, solar photovoltaic cells, a controller, batteries, an inverter, and AC and DC loads. It is a sophisticated renewable energy generation system that integrates advanced technologies such as wind and solar power, battery storage, and intelligent system control—creating a versatile and efficient hybrid solution for clean energy production.

  (1) In the wind power generation section, a wind turbine converts wind energy into mechanical energy, which is then transformed into electrical energy by the generator. The controller subsequently charges the battery, and the inverter supplies power to the load.

  (2) In the photovoltaic power generation section, the photovoltaic effect of solar panels is used to convert light energy into electrical energy, which then charges the storage battery. The stored DC power is subsequently converted into AC power via an inverter, supplying electricity to the connected load.

  (3) The inverter system consists of multiple inverters that convert the DC power stored in batteries into standard 220V AC, ensuring the proper operation of AC-powered equipment. It also features an automatic voltage regulation function, enhancing the overall power quality of the wind-solar hybrid generation system.

  (4) The control unit continuously switches and adjusts the battery pack’s operating status based on changes in sunlight intensity, wind speed, and load demands. On one hand, the adjusted electrical energy is directly supplied to DC or AC loads. On the other hand, any excess energy is routed to the battery pack for storage. When power generation falls short of meeting the load requirements, the controller steps in by delivering stored energy from the batteries to the load, ensuring the system’s continuous operation and stability.

  (5) The battery bank consists of multiple individual batteries and serves two primary functions within the system: energy regulation and load balancing. It converts the electrical energy generated by the wind power system and photovoltaic system into chemical energy for storage, making it available when there is insufficient power supply.

  The wind-solar hybrid power system can operate in three modes depending on changes in wind speed and solar radiation: the wind turbine independently supplies power to the load; the photovoltaic system alone powers the load; or the wind turbine and photovoltaic system work together to supply power to the load.

  Wind-solar hybrid power generation has the following advantages over standalone wind or solar power generation:

  1. By leveraging the complementary nature of wind and solar energy, it’s possible to achieve a relatively stable output, resulting in high system stability and reliability.

  2. With the same power supply ensured, the capacity of the energy storage battery can be significantly reduced;

  3. With rational design and proper matching, the system can essentially be powered by a wind-solar hybrid generation system, requiring little to no activation of backup power sources like diesel generators, thus delivering significant social and economic benefits.
