  1. Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Generation Introduction

The wind-solar complementary power generation system achieves continuous electricity production by leveraging the complementary nature of wind and solar energy resources, making it a cost-effective new-energy solution. Both wind and solar energy inherently complement each other: during the day, there’s ample sunlight and high solar radiation, while at night, light levels drop significantly. Additionally, summers offer long hours of daylight and abundant solar resources—but typically feature weaker winds. In contrast, winter and spring bring stronger winds but less sunlight. This natural balance highlights the practical applicability of the wind-solar hybrid system. The system consists of components such as wind turbines, solar photovoltaic panels, battery banks, storage batteries, a controller, and an inverter.

  2. Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Generation Applicability and Rationality

In terms of resource utilization, wind energy and solar energy are both abundant natural resources classified as renewable energy sources. Solar energy is derived from the continuous nuclear fusion reactions occurring deep within the Sun, while wind energy results from temperature differences across Earth's surface, which drive air convection and, in turn, generate wind. These two energy sources exhibit a degree of temporal complementarity, making them highly compatible for use in wind-solar hybrid power systems and providing significant energy advantages.

In terms of system configuration, Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Generation The system is a hybrid power supply system composed of two main components: wind power and photovoltaic systems. The wind power system converts wind energy into electricity via wind turbines, which then charges batteries through a controller. The electricity is subsequently delivered to the load using an inverter. Similarly, the photovoltaic system harnesses solar energy with solar panels, converting it into electrical power that is also fed into batteries via a controller before being supplied to the load through an inverter. However, standalone wind and solar power systems cannot guarantee a consistently stable power output, often leading to mismatches between supply and demand and shortening the lifespan of the batteries. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a complementary wind-solar hybrid power generation system. By leveraging the inherent complementarity between wind and solar energy, this system ensures a more stable power output, extends battery life, and ultimately reduces overall costs.
